Antwerp Boxing Academy, headed by Renald DeVulder, were the sole bidder in yesterday purse bids in Rome for EU jr middle champ "Sugar" [Jackson Osei Bonsu]’s (pictured) defence against Spaniard [Ivan Sanchez].
 
ABA bid 8000 EUR for the fight with date and site to be announced. However, neither man appears to be available in the next few months.
 
Osei Bonsu, 43-6-1, also have a fight lined up against Frenchman [Frank Haroche Horta], 30-10-5, March 29 in Gent - but Harroche Horta must first come through a fight for the vacant national title against [Sebastien Allais], 15-6-4, February 16 in Campbon.
 
As for Sanchez, 19-2-1, he’s lined up to defend the Spanish jr middle March 1 against [Javier Garcia Roche], 12-1-1, in Hospitalet de Llobregat.

[Felix Lora], a dangerous journeyman from Dominican Republic but now based in Barcelona, Spain, will defend the WBA I/C lightweight title March 9 in Espoo, Finland, against [Edis Tatli], 19-0.
 
A pro since 2003 Lora have racked a number of upset wins and the losses are on the road against tough opponents. He won the title with an upset win over the previously undefeated [Massimiliano Ballisai]. Tatli, a good boxer but not a puncher, just relinquished the EU title and is in tough in this matchup.
 
Cruiser [Juho Haapoja] is featured in the semifinal on this P 3 Boxing promotion.

Spanish jr welter [Daniel Rasilla], 25-4-2, had a tough weekend as he lost to [Ruben Nieto], 10-0, over ten in a fight for the national title. Rasilla was down three times in the fights and a lost a wide decision.
This loss also killed a fight against reigning EU champ [Jean Pierre Bauwens] that was set for April 19 in Gent and the search is now on for a new opponent for Bauwens.
