EURO RESULTS

By Per-Ake Persson

Aug 25, Struer, DEN, Energi Park Arena, Team Sauerland / viaplay
10x2: Dina Thorslund, 55,1, Den  W10-U  Yessica Munoz, 54,7, Mex
Thorslund won the vacant WBO 122 lb female title on scores of 100-90 twice and 99-91. Munoz walked into one meaty counter after the other but kept coming so full marks for bravery but in regards of boxing skills not many marks at all.

Dennis Ceylan

Dennis Ceylan, 58,0, Den  W8-U  Levan Tsiklauri, 57,8, Geo
79-73, 78-74 and 79-73. Ceylan was much better but insisted on punching it out with Tsiklauri, who lacked power but was willing, and Dennis took too many punches. In the last Ceylan was unsteady and while he won clearly this it was not an impressive win.
Frederik Hede Jensen, 59,3, Den  W4-U  Andrei Nurchynski, ?, Blr
40-36 on all cards. Hede, a southpaw, controlled the action with Nurchynski, a tall, rangy, fighter fought very carefully to avoid problems - and he did.
Micki Nielsen, 69,7, Den  W6-U  Nikoloz Gviniashvili, 69,8, Geå
Gviniashvili, a sub for Aliaksandr Dzemka, gave Nielsen all he could handle but lost on scores of 58-56 twice and 59-55. Both were cut early in the first: Gviniashvili by the right eye and Nielsen high up on the scalp. There were few clean punches and only in the last did Nielsen seem to get untracked. The Georgins were very unhappy with the decision.
Adam Bashanov, 78,0, Den  W6-U  Petr Chmelik, 77,3, Cze
60-54 and 59-55 twice. Bashanov was shaken in the second but was too good a boxer for the somewhat wild Czech.
Hariz Dzindo, 76,3, Den  W4-U  Gary Abajyan, 74,3, Geo
Time to go for Abajyan who have an old look about him, takes punishment and smile it off. 40-36 twice and 40-35.
Xhek Paskali, 78,1, Ger  W6-U  Bernard Donfack, 77,5, Ger
59-55 twice (too wide) and 57-57 (too close). Paskali had problems with Donfack´s heavy hooks but moved and boxed better in the last three for a close win-
6x2: Joanna Ekedahl, 61,2, Swe  TKO 2 (1.10)  Alina Samsonova, 61,1, Ukr
One sided mismatch and Samsonova was a green beginner and not a professional fighter.
Kent Erik Bådstad, 90,0, Nor  W4-U  Bohdan Ziyviko, 91,0, Ukr
Bådstad waded straight in and the soft looking Ziyviko looked ready to go several times but somehow came back - and Bådstad is easy to hit. 40-35 (the second was 10-8) and 40-36.
