EURO RESULTS

By Per-Ake Persson

Sep 27, Kazan, RUS, Sky Records LLC
Arstan Umbitkulov, 64,1,  W6-U  Vladislav Stepanov, 63,45,
60-54 on all cards.
Konstantin Piternov, 81,15,  W4-M  Alexander Larkin, 82,0,
39-36, 38-37 and 38-38. Larkin was down in the 2nd.
4x3: Abdulkadyr Hajiyev, 73,0,  TKO 1 (2.07)  Peter Slobodchikov, 73,45,
8x3: Vildan Minasov, 60,95,  TKO 2 (0.14)  Dastan Saduuly, Kaz
WBC Asian title. Saduuly was down twice in the first and once in the second before the towel came in.
10x3: Mikhail Dauhaliavets, 75,85, Blr  TKO 5 (not out)  Arman Rysbek, 76,15, Kaz
40-36, 39-37 and 38-38. EBP title.
Bobirzhan Mominov, 66,25, Kaz  W10-M  Vaginak Tamrazyan, 66,35,
96-94, 97-93 and 95-95. Mominov was down in the first. EPB title.

Sep 26, Struer, DEN, Energi Park, Team Sauerland / TK Promotion
10x2: Dina Thorslund, 55,2, Den  W10-U Nina Radovanovic, 53,9, Ser
Thorslund retained the WBO super bantamweight title with a tougher than expected win over the much smaller Serbian lady. The judges - all Danish - had their vision blocked by the red and white flag and scored the fight 100-89 twice and 100-90. Radovanovic threw wild right handers in the early rounds and many landed while Dina looked rusty. However, her size and strength wore down Radovanovic, who was counted in the 8th after a slip and hurt for real late in the 9th after a left hook to the body.
8x3: Filip Hrgovic, 112,4, Cro  KO 2 (1.07)  Alexandre Kartozia, 100,0, Geo/Gre
Hrgovic showed class as he took apart Kartozia, a sub for Ondrey Pala, in a mismatch. The Croatian warmed up, found the rang and ended matters with a left-right combo. It was scary as Kartozia looked badly out of it but he came to it after a few minutes and left the ring on his own. He got a 90 day suspension from DPBF.
6x3: Oliver Zaren, 75,5, Den  W6-U  Konstantin Alexandrov, 75,3, Bul
60-54 on all cards. Alexandrov came to survive and did just that. Zaren worked hard, switched stance and showed off all the moves he's learned from his trainer, Mikkel Kessler, but punching power can seldom be taught.
6x3: Oliver Mollenberg, 66,4, Den  W6-U Nikola Vlajkov, 67,0, Ser
60-54 on all cards but it was a lot closer than that with the Dane stunned and in trouble in both the first and fifth. Mollenberg was too eager to impress and Vlajkov, a strong, wild swinging fighter caught him flush on the chin a few times.
4x3: Jacob Bank, 74,0, Den  KO 2 (2.07) Birkan Garib, 73,8, Ger
Bank was out to impress and while he showed talent he was too eager. He tired in the second - and when the ref called break he took a small step back and then nailed Garib to the body, and got away with it. Garib seemed to overplay it as well - but there should at least have been a timeout and a point deductions for Bank.
4x3: Martin Foru, 77,3, Nth  TKO 4 (2.55) Tarkan Oezcoban, 77,6, Ger
One way traffic all the way but Foru kept armpunching. Oezcoban tired though and was defenceless when it was stopped.
4x3: Payman Akbari, 59,0, Den  W4-U  Marko Petrovic, 58,9, Ser
40-35 on all cards. Petrovic was floored in the 4th but wasn't hurt and gave Akbari a good fight.

Leon Bunn

Sep 26, Munich, GER, Plazamedia Broadcasting Center, Comosa AG / Sauerland Event,
12x3: Mairis Briedis, 90,2, Lat  W12-M  Yuniel Dorticos, 90,6, Cub/US
Briedis won the WBSS Finale and and retained the IBF title on scores of 117-111 twice and 114-114.
10x3: Denis Radovan, 72,0, Ger  W10-U  Nuhu Lawal, ?, Ger
IBF European 160 lb title. 100-90 on all cards. Lawal was a same day sub for Pole Robert Talarek, who weighed in the day before at 72,5, tested negative for Covid-19 but a member of his team tested positive and that meant he had be replaced.
8x3: Leon Bunn, 77,2, Ger  W8-U  Timo Laine, 77,3, Fin
80-72 on all cards.
8x2: Sophie Alisch, 56,8, Ger W8-U Edina Kiss, 57,0, Hun
77-75 on all cards.

Sep 26, Riga, LAT, MTK / LNK Boxing

Sep 26, Düsseldorf, GER, Classic Remise, Eva Dzepina, bdb
sm: Timo Rost, Ger  W8-U  David Makaradze, Geo
sm: Alexander Rigas, Ger  W8-M  Patrick Mendy, Uk/?
"highly questionable" win for Rigas - nothing new under the sun. Mendy's style make for close fight as he works on and off.
8x2, ?: Verena Kaiser, Ger  TKO 4 (not out)  Karina Kopinska, Pol
Stopping Kopinska is quite something - but wonder at which weight they fought?
