EURO RESULTS

By Per-Ake Persson

March 18, Berlin, GER, Columbia Theater, Troja Boxing (Marny Pokowietz), gba
12x3, sm: Mike Jäde, Ger  TKO 3 (1.37)  Paata Varduashvili, GeoJäded retained the GBC middleweight in a mandatory defence of the GBC title or so it was thought but the local hero couldn't make the weight so the fight was for the vacant GBC super middle title instead. Varduashvili came to fight and had Jaede, who was cut over the right eye, under some pressure in the second. However, early in the third Varduashvilli shook his right hand indicating an injury and eventually he stopped fighting - and the fight had to be stopped.
4x3, 84kg:: Philipp Pankin, Berlin, Ger TKO 3 (0.53) Niklas Pedersen, Den/gba
Pedersen was floored in the second and again in the third and his corner waved the towel. Pedersen's chin doesn't seem like it holds up to much at all.
4x3, c: Hamza Hussein, Den/gba  W4-U  Feras Alnimer, Berlin, Ger
Close win for the Dane, who was stunned in the third. He tried to box at long range but was seldom effective with Alnimer waiting for his chance.
4x3, c: Justin Hoffman, Berlin, Ger  TKO 1 (2.46) Daniel Coker, Uk/?
Coker came out like a madman but quickly faded and was floored three times - without getting hit (but it didn't seem like a dive either - he just couldn't handle the pressure).
4x3, sw: Denys Pesotskyy, Ukr/Den/gba TKO 2 (1.37)  Abel-Charli Marta, Rom/Berlin, Ger
Presotskyy carefully took apart Marta and impressed in doing so. The best fighter on the bill making his pro debut. Very stylish, a southpaw.
4x3, w: Donsley Figino, Fra  W4-U  Pavel Herman, Cze
Hermann was floored in the third but after that Figino didn't do much which allowed Herman to last the distance.
4x3, sw: Maksim Bogancov, Berlin, Ger  TKO 1 (1.47)  Michal Hadrbolec, Cze
Hadrbolec was totally inept, took a standing eight count, and was later stopped.
4x3, sl: Joaib Akhtar, Afg/Berlin, Ger  TKO 3  Peter Mellar, Hun
Mellar suffered a busted nose in the second and as it kept bleeding it was stopped. It was one way traffic anyway.
4x3, 82kg: Johannes Missai, Berlin, Ger  TKO 2 (not out) Martin Cerny, Cze
Cerny was floored in the first, tired badly and didn't come out for the second.
4x3, l:  Kevin Traynor, Uk/?  KO 2 (2.45) Justin Meifert, Berlin, Ger
Meifert was so skinny he looked like he came strajght of the movie Survivor. He fought well but Traynor was too strong for him. There was a long time out after what looked like a low blow and Meifert never got back into it. He was knocked out by a right hand - and it took a long time before he got back into it.
4x3, h: Rasul Alautdinov, Berlin, Ger  KO 1 (1.00) Pavel Siska, Cze
Right hand -left hook. Siska went down heavily and referee Robert Larsen skipped the count.
4x3, 75kg: Jordan Hammonds, Uk/? KO 2 (1.02)  Zahir Bennett, Uk/?
Hammonds was green and wild but could punch a bit. Bennett looked quite slow - and was caught badly by a right swing. He hit the canvas with the back of his head as well and left the ring on a stretcher and was taken to hospital as a precaution. He has fought on the UK "unlicensed" circuit as well with no wins anywhere.
4x3, m: Timo Westphal, Berlin, Ger  TKO 2  Eric Misurda, Cze
Misurda was floored in the first and tired badly - and retired himself in the second.
4x3, sm, Maurice Milcke, Ger  KO 2 (2.13)  Josef Holub, Cze
Holub made Milcke work a bit then but then went down, and again and was counted out. No harm done to anyone.
