REES RELINQUISHED EBU TITLE

British lightweight [Gavin Rees] (pictured) have relinquished the EBU lightweight title to concentrate on a shot at the WBA title.

The vacant title will now be contested between Italian [Luca Giacon], already mandatory challenger, and the highest ranked available boxer.

Rees vs Giacon was to go to purse bids today but was of course cancelled.
