John Akulugu leaves Dec 4 for WBU fight in Germany

Ghanaian pugilist, John Akulugu departs Accra next Wednesday to Germany for his (World Boxing Union) WBU Middleweight contest against Steven Bendall the following Saturday night at the Heimathaus, Neuwied, Rheinland-Pfalz under the Turhan Altunkaya’s PunchUp Promotions bill.

Akulugu who will leave Ghana with his team via Tap Portugal Airlines, is convinced this is the breakthrough fight he needs to revive his career. The boxer has pledged to beat his experience opponent from the United Kingdom in Germany to announce himself on the international stage.

Akulugu is therefore appealing for Ghanaian prayers and support as he gets ready to do battle for the nation come December 7 night in the European country.

“I am in good shape because my coaches have trained me very well and I can promise Ghanaians that I will bring the title back. All I ask is for everyone to remember me in their prayers and victory shall be ours,” Akulugu said.
