Hennessy Sports won today’s purse bids for the vacant EBU superbantam title between Kid Galahad, 15-0, and Sergio Prado, 9-3-1. Hennessy bid 51 201,00 Euro while Rimer Boxe bid 45 113,00 Euro. Date and site for the fight is to be announced.
 
Prado lost three straight fights in 2010 and 2011 but is unbeaten since then winning both the Spanish and EU titles but Galahad must be regarded as a big favorite in this one.

Italian OPI 2000 beat Hatton Promotions in the purse bids today in Rome and won the right to stage EBU superwelter champ Sergey Rabchenko’s mandatory defence of the title against Italian Emanuele Della Rosa. OPI 2000 bid 71 317,00 Euro while Hatton bid 48 878,00 Euro. Date and site is to be announced.
 
Rabchenko (25-0 and WBC # 1) vs Della Rosa (33-1, WBC # 5) is effectively also an eliminator for a fight for a WBC world title but if the winner gets a chance to take on Floyd Mayweather is a different story though.

EU flyweight king Xavier Urpi from Spain will make his mandatory defence against Frenchman Vincent Legrand away from after French promotional company Complexe Des Tombelles won today’s purse bids in Rome with a bid for 6 670,00 Euro. Rimer Boxe finished second with a bid for 3500,00 Euro. Date and site is to be announced.

The Viking Warrior, Mikkel Kessler (pictured) became a father for the first time around Christmas. A private matter it may seem but Kessler is on record telling reporters that he would never enter the ring as a parent. Interviewed in BT today Kessler leaves the door open for a continued career but nothing is decided yet.
 
Kessler have been out of the ring and the limelight since losing to Carl Froch in May of last year.

Sauerland Event reports that there are over 10 000 tickets sold for Marco Huck´s defence of the WBO cruiser title against Firat Arslan at the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer Hall in Stuttgart on Saturday. Kalle Sauerland compares Huck vs Arslan II with Henry Maske vs Graciano Rocchigiani II (a clear win for Maske). Huck vs Arslan II will be televised in 60 countries.
