Carl Frampton will face Hugo Cazares in a final eliminator for the WBC super-bantamweight title at Belfast's Odyssey Arena on April 4.
Promoter Barry McGuigan has landed his unbeaten protege a shot against the former two-weight world champ and is confident he will defeat the Mexican.
"Carl will have to be at his best to beat this man and I believe he will, convincingly," he said.
Belfast fighter Frampton, who has been backed by Ricky Hatton in the past, said: "Hugo Cazares is a former two-weight champion from Mexico who brings a lot of experience and skill with him.
"I can't wait to get back in front of the amazing Belfast crowd and secure my shot at the WBC world title."
The 26-year-old relinquished his European and Commonwealth belts in November, to pursue a world title bid, with the winner set for a world title showdown with current WBC champion Leo Santa Cruz.
