Unbeaten Teen Star Shiya Ozgul Added To 1st March York Hall Double Title Headed Event

Hackney based Turkish teen sensation Shiya Ozgul is set to make his third professional outing, following a late call-up to feature on the Dave Murphy Acourtier Events, double WBU European title headed, WARZONE event at York Hall in Bethnal Green, on Saturday 1st March 2014.

Prior to turning professional in 2012, Shiya had a stellar amateur career, having fought over eighty times and was a regular in the Turkish National Amateur Squad.

On the 4th October last year, Shiya successfully made the transition from amateur to the pro ranks, conclusively out-boxing seven fight veteran Michal Vosyka from the Czech Republic.

Just two weeks later the nineteen year old was already back in action, this time against Bolton’s very own Chris ‘Twinny’ Jenkinson, once again Shiya showed a maturity in his boxing that belied his tender years on way to securing his second career win by a 39-37 points margin.

It may have been five months since his last fight, but throughout that time the Hackney based youngster remained in the gym, so was ready more than ready when he got the call earlier this week to appear on March 1st.

Following a sparring session, under the watchful eyes of his coach, former Commonwealth Lightweight Champion Mo Hussein, at the TRAD TKO Gym in Canning Town, young Shiya took a few moments out to speak about his upcoming fight.

“I’m very pleased to fight again on March 1st.

I am really confident that I will have good win, I have very good training with Mo, I am confident that I will be even better.

I train hard, I had good wins, I want to be better, I want to fight for titles, that’s what I train for, I want to be World Champion one day.

The fans will like what they see, it will be a good win.”

Shiya Ozgul, against a yet to be named opponent, will take place on the undercard of double WBU European Championship headed WARZONE event, at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London on Saturday 1st March 2014.
