Huck take on Italian Mirko Larghetti. March 1, Magdeburg, GER, Getec Arena, est 7000 (full house), SES, bdb
Arthur Abraham, 76,2, Berlin, Ger W12-S Robert Stieglitz, 76,2, Magdeburg, Ger
Abraham regained the WBO supermiddle title on a split decision over Stieglitz in "the home of the Lion" fighting in front of a packed house mainly with Stieglitz fans. It was tense, hardfought, dirty, exciting and fastpaced all the way with Stieglitz beginning every round in a furious pace denying the big punching Abraham space. It was messy, foulfilled as the the two wrestled on the inside with few clean punches.

Abraham landed with a good right late in the first and showed he had the power to hurt the champion. He also had the conditioning to stay with Stieglitz and showed coolness under fire. The fight went back and forth and when referee Genaro Rodriguez docked a point - quite correctly - for rabbit punching for Abraham it looked like Stieglitz would prevail with his enourmous but not always effective workrate. In the ninth however Stieglitz had a point deducted for holding and from there on it was obvious that Robert was exhausted and fighting on willpower. Abraham picked his moments and was dangerous and late in the final round he nailed Stieglitz with hard hooks that forced the champion to take a knee. At the end it was scored 115-110 and 114-111 for Abraham and 113-112 for Stieglitz. Close but deserved for Abraham.
10x2; Christina Hammer, 72,1, Dortmund, Ger W10-U Jessica Balougun, 71,0, Aachen, Ger
Hammer retained the WBO and WBFed female titles on scores of 100-90 on all cards. It was one-sided and never exciting with Hammer controlling the action all the way against her much smaller opponent.
10x3: Dennis Ronert, 86,5, Koblenz, Ger W10-U Shefat Isufi, 84,5, Alb
Ronert retained the IBF Youth title on scores of 98-92, 97-93 and 96-94 wearing down his smaller, faster opponent with a steady, heavy bodyattack. Isufi was too defensive and spent long spells just moving out of range before countering. As Ronert tired / lost interest Isufi had a few moments but was stunned at the end by a right´.
10x3: Michael Wallisch, 103,9, Munich, Ger KO 2 (2.11) Frank Schadwill, 101,0, Halberstedt, Ger
Wallisch retained the German - BDB version - heavyweight title. Schadwill was floored by a right hook seconds into the fight and was hurt later in the round. In the second Schadwill tried to come forward but was outpunched and floored twice. It should have been stopped but the referee gave the challenger another chance and Wallisch took him out with a left-right. Schadwill was on his back totally gone and it was stopped without a count.
4x3: Tom Schwarz, 100,7, Halle / Saale, Ger W4-U Janis Ginters, 109,7, Riga, Lat
Ginters protected himself with a pawing left bent as if he was to throw a hook and Schwarz kept trying with a big right upercut and got close but not more. The Latvian took a beating but was never hurt. 40-36 on all cards.
6x3: Dario Bredicean, 76,2, Miami, US/Ger W4-U Raimonds Sniedze, 76,2, Riga, Lat
Cut to four at the last moment 39-37 on all cards for Bredicean but was close enough for a draw in a messy fight with few clean punches. Bredicean is a southpaw.
4x3; Tom Pahlman, 88,5, Greifswald, Ger W4-U Patrick Linkert, ?, Magdeburg, Ger
Pahlmann, southpaw, won on scores of 40-36 on all cards. Linkert looked flabby but kept coming and Pahlmann appeared to tire in the last.
6x3: Felix Lamm, 63,5, Nordhausen, Ger W6-U Lubos Priehradnik, 63,0, Bratislava, Slo
60-54 on all cards (scoring referee, two judges). Onsided with Lamm, a southpaw, doing a number on Priehradnik, who kept coming and missing for the entire six rounds.
