EURO NEWS

The Danish Warrior, Mikkel Kessler (46-3), is never out of shape but May 27 trainer Jimmy Montoya arrived to Copenhagen for a month of serious boxing training and Kessler have today sparred with young prospects Torben Keller (10-0-1) and Abdul Khattab (7-0).

There is neither date, opponent nor site for Kessler’s next fight which is expected late this fall. This weekend Kessler will of course be in London to watch Froch vs Groves II.

There´s also a deal with network TDC for documentary where shooting already have begun and the idea is to follow the former WBC and WBA supermiddle champ all the way up to his next fight.

Sauerland's First Lady, WBA, WBC and WBO female welter champ Cecilia Braekhus (24-0), have settled her contractual dispute with her promoter and will fight June 7 in Schwerin and take on Jessica Balogun (19-3).

Braekhus and her team are all smiles in Norwegian press while Sauerland Promotion are rather neutral in their press release on the matter but there are probably no winner in this dispute. Braekhus won clearly over Balogun in 2012.

EU lightweight champ Gyorgi Miszei, Jr, (19-9) will defend the title against Jean Pierre Bauwens (33-1) June 29 in Gent (Belgium). The fight will be staged by JeP Events.

Miszei won the title in a big upset with a points win over Brunet Zamora after some years as a journeyman while Bauwens previously suffered his only loss this far to Ruben Nieto in a bid to win the EU superlightweight title.

EBU lightweight champ Emiliano Marsili (28-0-1) will defend the title as previously reported June 7 in Tolfa (Italy) but it won’t be against Frenchman Anthony Mezaache, who pulled out earlier in the week due to illness.

Instead Marsili will now take on Benoit Manno (14-1) in what is the headliner of this OPI 2000 promotion. Manno is ranked # 9 by the EBU at superfeatherweight.
