Over the past few years Baz Rehman has been quietly in the background of a good few boxing events in the Capital, with the East London based entrepreneur investing in various promotions, including some of the early Johnny Eames TRAD TKO Events promoted shows.

No surprise then that Baz can often be found at the famous TRAD TKO Boxing Gym in Canning Town, where a chance meeting with Mark Prince led to him getting behind ‘The Prince’, by agreeing to sponsor his upcoming MBC International Championship battle with Czech Republic’s Jiri Svacina, which takes place on the Shyam Batra SSE promoted CALL OF DUTY event at York Hall on August 2nd.

Following a quick photo shoot of Mark and Baz with the MBC International Championship belt, Baz spoke about his involvement in the upcoming title fight.

“I’m definitely looking forward to the fight, not just because I am sponsoring it, it is going to be a great fight for the fans.

I’m a big fan of the sport, I’ve been involved in it for a while now, It’s my hobby being involved in the promoting of fights, it all started with Johnny Eames when he started promoting and it’s gone on from there, it’s something I always intended getting even more involved with, so after chatting with Mark and Rio (MBC International President Gianluca Di Caro) I knew I wanted to be involved.

To my mind Cruiserweight is the new Heavyweight, it’s the most exciting division in the sport today. Two heavy hitting all action big guys going toe to toe, that’s what the sport is really all about.

Mark is not just a good fighter, his pedigree is second to none in the UK, he’s fought twenty two times, lost only one and that was a world title fight, he’s already won titles and I’m confident that he’ll win the MBC International title on August 2nd and then it’s onto the world scene.

I’m involved now, I will be behind Mark all the way.”

The Prince then succinctly added,

“At the end of the day I’m more than pleased that Baz is getting behind me and sponsoring the fight.

I am glad that Baz is taking care of all that and sponsoring the title fight, this enables everyone to look forward to a great fight between me and Jiri on Saturday August 2nd.

There’ll be no hiccups, apart from Jiri hitting the canvas in whatever round that I desire.”
