Former EBU featherweight champion and IBF challenger Alex Miskirtchian (24-3-1) has parted ways with manager Alain Vanackere and his heading for the US to seek new opportunities.
Miskirtchian (pictured) was last seen challenging Evgeny Gradovich for the IBF title in May in Macao but lost on points. He was set for a comeback fight October 11 in Belgium where he´s been based throughout his career but pulled out shortly before. Miskirtchian is also the mandatory challenger for EBU champion Josh Warrington. In an article at ffboxe.com Miskirtchian says he feels the money on the European circuit is not big enough.

Cedric Tita (7-7-1) and Karlo Tabaghua (17-6-0-1) clash for the vacant Belgian welterweight title January 31 in Sint Truiden. Tabaghua fights out of Vaxsjo (Sweden) but is licensed in Belgium. He´s had a tough comeback since returning in December after almost a year out. First he lost a close call to Attila Kovacs in Hungary and was then stopped in two by Stephen Danyo December 25. Karlo was suffering from food poisoning and says he was unable to throw a punch during the two rounds the fight last before it was stopped with Tabaghua vomitting in his corner.

The fight for the vacant EBU supermiddleweight title between Mariano Hilario (11-2) and Hadillah Mohoumadi (18-3-1) that was set for January 17 in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (France) is cancelled. Hilario vs Mohoumadi was first on for December 20 but was postponed due to what was described as a problem with the venue. Why it is cancelled is a different question but spanish website espabox.com hints at financial problems.

For Mohoumadi this must be especially bad as he spent all of 2014 waiting for his chance to fight for the EBU title first as official challenger for Christopher Rebrasse, who then lost to George Groves in voluntary defence. Groves then relinquished the title for other options and Mohoumadi finally got then EU titleholder Mariano Hilario as co-challenger.

WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion of the world Wladimir Klitschko could be defending the title in Kiev (Ukraine) May 30. It has been almost set in stone that Klitschko´s next defence will go ahead in New York City but now there appears to be other plans and one of the sites mentioned appears to be Kiev. Who Klitschko will fight is still open if Bryant Jennings appears to be the strongest candidate.

EBU flyweight champion Kevin Satchell will make a voluntary defence of the title March 6 in Liverpool against Luke Wilton. The fight is staged by Queensberry Promotions.

Satchell vs Wilton is a part on a huge show at the Echo Arena topped Paul Butler challenging IBF super-flyweight title from Zolani Tete.
