Euro champ Michele Di Rocco: "After Kasper Bruun, I want the world title"OPI 2000 Press Release On Thursday February 26, in Milan (Italy), European super lightweight champion Michele Di Rocco spoke at the press conference of the “Principe d’ Europa” card which will be promoted by OPI 2000 and Principe Boxing Events next Saturday 26 at Principe theater in downtown Milan. Michele Di Rocco (38-1-1) will defend his Euro title against Kasper Bruun (19-1-1). “I have seen videos of Bruun’s last fights – Di Rocco said - and I respect him, but I’m 100% sure to win because my dreams are bigger than the European title. I will defend it again a few times, but I’m ready to fight for the world super lightweight championship. My manager Christian Cherchi knows that I’m ready for anybody and I’m sure that he will provide me the best option.”

The press conference was packed: newspapers, online newspapers, websites, and even Dane television network TV2/Nord sent their journalists to Dixieland Cafè, a Tex-Mex restaurant which has become a popular spot for boxing fans in Milan. The press conference was broadcast live on the internet by Dixieland Radio.

The Principe theater is already sold-out. Fans bought tickets real fast because Michele Di Rocco has been living in Milan for the past two years and has built a following and because the card offers a welterweight fight between the very popular Renato De Donato (14-2) and Alessandro Caccia (12-1). The European title match will be broadcast in Italy by television network Italia 1. |
