15 July 2011 - New York City, New York, United States
In a good action super-welterweight showdown, “Raging Bull” Pawel Wolak, 29 years-old, and Delvin Rodriguez, 31 yars-old from Dominican Republic, battled to a majority draw after 10 contested rounds at the Roseland Ballroom.
A grotesque swelling above Polish-American Wolak’s right eye did not disrupt his relentless pressure.
The official scoring: 97-93 (Tom Schreck) for Rodriguez and two 95-95 even (Julie Lederman and Steve Weisfeld). Referee was Steve Smoger.
Wolak, rated WBO #3, WBA #6, IBF #8, is now 29-1-1 (19). Rodriguez, at his first 154-lbs fight, is now 25-5-3 (14).

WOLAK, RODRIGUEZ FIGHT TO DRAW
Earlier tonight, Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing presented this week’s edition of ESPN’s “Friday Night Fights” from the Roseland Ballroom in NYC. Headlining the card was the much anticipated jr. middleweight showdown between Delvin Rodriguez and Pawel Wolak. The fight had boxing insiders buzzing with excitement as soon as it was announced, and it ended up living up to the hype and some.
PAWEL WOLAK, DELVIN RODRIGUEZ BATTLE TO DRAW
Pawel Wolak fought the second-half of his bout with Delvin Rodriguez nearly blind, with a grotesque hematoma over his right eye. The injury was so obscene- the right side of his head was misshapen- that it evoked memories of Hasim Rahman’s monstrous injury from a head butt against Evander Holyfield. Wolak and Rodriguez battled to a 10-round majority draw at the Roseland Ballroom in Manhattan on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights.
Pawel Wolak and Delvin Rodriguez Battle to Draw in Amazing Fight of the Year Contender
Pawel Wolak and Delvin Rodriguez put on what might as well have been a new Arturo Gatti vs Micky Ward fight tonight at the Roseland Ballroom in New York, going to a majority draw in the main event of Friday Night Fights.
Wolak (29-1-1, 19 KO) and Rodriguez (25-5-3, 14 KO) battled tooth-and-nail for 10 brutal rounds, and wound up with two cards of 95-95, and one that tipped 97-93 to Rodriguez. Bad Left Hook scored the fight 95-95.
DELVIN RODRIGUEA AND PAWEL WOLAK FIGHT TO A DRAWIN A BLUE COLLAR WAR
On the scorecards, nobody won the ESPN2 Friday Night Fights main event between Delvin Rodriguez and Pawel Wolak. But both men won plenty more with their majority draw than the average "W" on the record will give you, because their Fight of the Year candidate will earn them the undying love of fans. The biggest winners were anyone who saw this blue collar war, hyped in advance as one of 2011's potential best -- hype that turned out to be right on the money.
