Nov 4, Jarvenpaa, FIN, Yhteiskoulu, Pro Boxing Team Finland 10x3: Kevin Melhus, 90,4, Nor W10-S Samuli Karkkainen, 90,4, Fin Melhus won the vacant WBO I-C title with a very dubious split decision after ten close, tense rounds where especially the early rounds were extra tense with little action. However, the action that did take place came from Karkkainen, who built an early lead and outworked the Norwegian in most of the rounds. The scoring 97-93 Karkakkainen from the Norwegian judge, 96-94 Melhus from the Hungarian judge and then 97-95 from the Finnish judge. I had it 98-92 Karkkainen - but can easily say that two rounds more for Melhus might have been alright. Melhus was the better boxer but one must punch to win rounds and he failed to do that except for the last round. 6x3: Harry Strikez, 83,9, Aus KO 2 (2.23) Mikheil Khutsishvili, 81,6, Geo Strikez / Harald Pfingstl ended matters with a hook to the body. Khutsishvili, well overweight, looked like he could have gotten up but sat the count out. 6x3: Kristijan Kuzmanovic, 66,6, Ser/Aus W6-S Morad Hadadi, 66,6, Fin 58-56 both ways and 60-55 for Kuzmanovic after a good action-packed fight. I had it 58-56 Hadadi. Kuzmanovic was wobbled a couple times but always came back. 6x3: Henri Malmström, 75,8, Fin KO 4 Pridon Kakitashvili, 75,8, Geo/Nth Kakitashvili took a steady beating until a right to the body landed - and he sat the count out. 6x3: Elias Okkonen, 63,3, Fin W6-U Isakan Ahmadi, 75,8, Aus 59-55 twice and 60-55 - which looked a bit generous to the Finn. Ahmadi bled from the rght ear and walked into some good counters but was strong, kept coming and had his mkments. 6x3: Mika Mielonen, 119,7, Fin W6-U Arash Khojasteh, 95,6, Aus 60-54 on all cards, Mielonen, a big slugger, kept trying to walk fast moving, smaller, Austrian down but walked into many punches. By the fifth round his left was swollen shut and Khojasteh kept ladning and moving. I had it 57-57.
